So yourself a favor and stop in here! The food was amazing. Try the pies, I mean like every one they've got if you can. We pre ordered some so that we could pick up another on our way back through. The food was great and so was the service.

Delicious home cooking! Lots of childhood favorites like mom used to make. True comfort food. Home baked rolls and desserts are legendary. Very inexpensive with big portions. Written up in many magazines like Southern Living. Literally right off the highway so it’s a must try. We stop by every time we travel that way.

I love this home cooked family restaurant! I'm pretty Mrs. Rowe herself was our host. Her picture is on the front of the menu! Anyway, catfish was very good. My top recommendation from a previous visit would be their fried chicken!!! Love the salad and rolls too! Great service, thank you!

So I have lived here since 2005 and yesterday 9/3/2022 was the first time I had ever been here. My breakfast was amazing. French toast was perfect. The atmosphere is astounding and the employees were very friendly. It wasn’t busy and from what I gather the majority of the customers are regulars. There is beautiful homemade pies and baked goods to purchase. Overall great experience. I wish there was more breakfast variety but what they have is great.

For the first time ever eating hedear I found the food very good, but just a little bit pricey for my budget. I guess it just depends on how much money you have to whether or not it is pricey to anyone else. The atmosphere was very pleasant and I kind of felt like I was in a fancy restaurant. The only thing that was a little bit disappointing was that the waitress never came back to ask if we wanted refills for our drinks. I'm not sure if it was just because they didn't have a lot of help or some other reason that could have been prevented. Overall, it is a very historical place and I would highly suggest trying it out if I were you

January 22, 2025 - Recently moved to Virginia, so my wife and I stopped for lunch at the iconic . . . Mrs. Rowe’s Family Restaurant! I enjoy local history, this place offers lots of stories and good comfort food! It’s not fancy, but my wife enjoyed her fresh Reuben w/sauerkraut sandwich & side warm apple slices. WOW, my stacked fresh “ hunks” of baked real Turkey breast, ham, B, L, T, and cheese ( Mike’s Club) sandwich was delicious ! My side was crinkle baked fries (the frozen type) oh well. Our server Erika was excellent, checking on us and answering questions! Thank you so much Erika. I walked around, reading the articles posted on the walls . Then we met one of the family managers . . . Mary Lou DiGrassie who stopped at our table , a very nice lady who shared the history of this iconic restaurant. 1947 - Willard Rowe operated Perk’s Bar 1948 - Met , fell in love with Mildred 1953 - Willard & Mildred married, changed Perk’s to Rowe’s Steakhouse 1973 - Willard Rowe died, Mildred changed to Mrs. Rowe’s Family Restaurant *Michael DiGrassie (son)Managed restaurant *Interstates 81 & 64 built, added tourists in the early 1960’s *More family members joined the staff (Linda DiGrassie , Virginia Rowe LeMasurier) *Grandson Aaron DiGrassie is a trained Chef! His specialty is Bakery , desserts ! Special Note: As we finished our lunch, Mary Lou DiGrassie asked if we tried some pie for dessert? We were too full for desserts. WOW, she packed up 1 slice of Lemon Meringue, and 1 slice of Apple Pie - FREE ! Which we enjoyed that night, very good ! Thank you so much! ( and Thanks to Chef Aaron ) Special Request : ( To Chef Aaron ) Please consider adding the Famous tradition of FRESH (Southern) FRIED CHICKEN

We loved the hometown feel of this restaurant! It’s not this modern vibe… you walked into Grandmas kitchen and can’t wait to eat vibes!!! The food was delicious (pork tenderloin, collard greens, Mac and cheese, and turkey sandwich)! Our server Sunie was one of the most friendly servers we’ve ever had! This was a really great dining experience for me and my family. Highly recommend!

My husband and I were about to stop at Cracker Barrel, but a friend recommended that we go to Mrs. Rowe’s instead. The vegetables soup alone was a meal! The bowl must’ve contained 3 to 4 cups of soup! And the muffins that came with it were outstanding! My husband got a club sandwich and he said it was very very good! Then to top it off, we got a coconut pie that was a delight to our taste buds! Very light and fluffy and delicious! We plan to come here every time we return to Virginia. This is a must try place!
